Why Permaculture?

Maybe you're retrofitting your home, planning a garden, greening your office or your redesigning a community environment? Whether you're in an urban or rural setting you'll learn strategies you can put to work for you straight away.

In the Blue Mountains?

Here's your chance to attend a Permaculture Design Course in the spectacular environs of the city of the Blue Mountains. Katoomba Street Permaculture is delighted to present a unique opportunity to complete the internationally-recognized 72 hour Permaculture Design Course (PDC) in Katoomba. Get the fast track on permaculture design thinking, learn how to make all the right connections in a supportive environment and start your own sustainability revolution!

Useful Skills

Our program gives you the knowledge and skills to design permaculture systems so you can grow food, conserve resources, optimise animal and plant systems and have a wonderful positive impact in your community and the environment.

When and Where?

We kick off on Friday 18th May and go Fridays and Saturdays and conclude on Saturday June 23rd 2012

classes are 9 - 5pm, there will be some assignments between classes

cost: $800 if you pay before April 23rd $1000 after that.

this includes: Healthy fresh and mostly local organic lunches, as well as morning and afternoon teas course notes, Bill Mollison's Permaculture Design Manual and if you're not already part of a local or national permie group we'll hook you up with a year's membership for free.

What is a PDC?

The Permaculture Design Course (PDC) is a solid foundation in

  • Maintaining healthy edible gardens, food forests and landscapes
  • Learning all about trees, energy and nutrient cycles
  • Managing pests and diseases naturally

  • Designing sustainable houses and habitats with appropriate technologies and renewable energy
  • Building local permaculture communities and transition towns

We'll also offer a range of practical demonstration, hands on experiences, and live design exercises.
